Louis Vuitton hosted the “Series 3” Exhibition on the strand in the building that used to host part of the London Fashion Week a few years ago, only a few steps away from Somerset House. Louis Vuitton Series is part of recent French Fashion Houses exhibitions and movies inviting their clients to discover the creative process behind collections such as Chanel with the worldwide Little Black Jacket exhibition and this year’s Melle Privee exhibition in London and Dior with their retrospective exhibition in Harrods and this year’s Dior and I movie about Raf Simons’ creative journey in the conception of his first couture collection for Dior. Launched during London Fashion Week in September 2016 Louis Vuitton Series 3 is a journey through Nicolas Ghesquiere’s inspirations for his fourth ready-to-wear show as Louis Vuitton artistic director for women’s collection.
The first step of the exhibition was the revelation of Louis Vuitton new logo in a short film where the previous logo slowly morphed into the new LV logo with intersynced letters. The visitor was then lead into a room reproducing the Louis Vuitton Fondation in Paris, a philanthropic extra large gallery showcasing regular art exhibitions, reminding the visitors that fashion and art are closely linked.
Louis Vuitton lovers were then treated to short movies describing the evolution of the iconic monogrammed bag.
The exhibition went on with the broadcast of Louis Vuitton’s womenswear fashion show for Autumn Winter 15. Series 3 ended up with a walkin wardrobe offering visitors a last sneak peak into Nicolas Ghesquiere’s collection.
