Lack of sleep, pollution, stressful life, we use and abuse our skin. We all do. Unfortunately our skin hasn’t evolved with our lifestyle and is, in fact, pretty unforgiving of any abuse it suffers. Transgressions to a healthy lifestyle translate into spots and dull and prematurely ageing skin. Things are even worse if you’re over 30 or if you are smoking.
Thankfully the science has evolved and new non-invasive treatments have been developed such as HydraFacial, a multi-step procedure which not only deep cleanses the skin but also delivers a cocktail of super potent serums to rejuvenates the skin. This skin boot camp is available at Dr Haus’s practice on Harley Street in London.
A celebrity favourite from Matthew McConaughey, Ethan Hawkes, Beyonce, Paris Hilton, Karren Brady and Suki Waterhouse to name a few, HydraFacial improves the overall skin health and also reduces fine lines and wrinkles and improves the elasticity and firmness of the skin.
I booked my HydraFacial right after London Fashion Week after which I had cumulated 4 weeks of non-stop work sans day off, a couple of trips and 4 to 6 hours sleep per night. I was physically and mentally exhausted and it showed on my face. Suitable for both men and women, this treatment is thorough to say the least. It is not a pampering treatment of any sorts but it probably is one of the most efficient facials in the market to reboot the skin. The intense protocol of the HydraFacial and is split into 4 phases. The treatment starts with the Vortex Cleansing and Exfoliation, followed by the Vortex Extraction when impurities are removed thanks to the suction process of the Vortex machine. These two steps reproduce the effects of a lymphatic drainage which helps inject newly oxygenated blood to detox the skin.
The next step of the treatment is the Vortex Peel using Glycolic and Salicylic acids to complete the purifying part the treatment, critical to bring the clock back. Dr Haus explains that regular exfoliations and peels are key to boost the skin’s natural process of rejuvenation. Then follows the last but not least Vortex Fusion. This last step of the HydraFacial protocol consists in the delivery of a cocktail of super potent serums including antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acids. Holy grail for the skin the Fusion Vortex leaves the skin radiant, glowing, nourished and protected for a truly spectacular result!
HydraFacials are available at Dr Haus practice on 140 Harley Street in London, a course of 6 treatments is recommended every other week followed by maintenance facials every month, before an event or after a long-haul trip to fight jet lag.
