Spending the Summer in London is like playing Russian roulette: it may be 19 degrees and raining in the morning before a heat wave hits the city in the afternoon and a freezing micro-climate comes down on you when you have an al fresco dinner in the evening.
Rule number 1 of spending the Summer in London is to come prepared for a temperamental weather. As much as it is annoying to be caught under the rain with a strapless top and sandals the same can be said of melting in the heat wave in a long sleeve top.
The best option for a day-to-night weather proof outfit lie in the layering of trendy pieces which can be worn on their own if the temperatures go up and match perfectly if a refreshing breeze cools off the day. For a day of meeting with clients followed by a date night I’ve opted for a deep plunged jumpsuit and a bomber jacket, both by Pretty Little Thing.
During daytime, I’ve layered my jumpsuit with the bomber jacket to turn down its sexy low cleavage. The bomber will also come handy when the temperature drops during those long Summer night dinners when it can be casually thrown on your shoulders to keep you warm.
Rule Number 2 of City Summer Styling is the art of accessorising here teaming up my trendy jumpsuit and bomber jacket with killer cage heels from Lucy Choi and a selection of black and silver rings, earrings and rings by Joubi.
Last but not least – the beauty regime! A sleek ponytail will take you anywhere especially when your ombre is on flick! On point contouring and shades of brown are a versatile make up and will take you from day to night. The Rodial line is just perfect to create a flawless complexion and sculpt your face. If like me you feel more confident and in control when perfectly polished, book a makeover at Rodial in Harvey Nichols and ask for Ramona or Rachel, they’re my trusted make up artists!
