Rodial: Models, Editors and Stylists favourite skincare and makeup brand!

I’ve used Rodial for the past year and a half. I’ve discovered the brand during a makeup press event that they held last year and since then, I fell in love with everything they do: skincare, body range and of course makeup. I often have my make up done by the Rodial team before I attend an important event and I also religiously use the brand at home. This is a big deal for me as my skin is very sensitive and breaks out with most other brands. Rodial is one of the few brands that my skin likes if not craves for!

I’ve asked the press team when they would open a counter at Selfridges as I am local and hey, that means that I could pop by all the time! Harvey Nichols is lovely and a very relaxing urban retreat but I live in Marylebone and 95% of the press events, PR companies and my clients are in Central London, if not in a square mile around Bond Street. This means that I rarely have the time to pop for an hour or two to Knighstbridge during the week to get my make up done… until this Summer when Rodial opened their first pop up 10 mn away from me! I popped by today and had my makeup done by Rachel the makeup artist who did my very first Rodial makeover a year back. I heard from other bloggers that Rodial had launched a few new products which I was excited to try. The event was also the occasion to get introduced to my Rodial signature look which I call Contouring Chic. It is not this highly shimmery and sometimes exaggerated contouring that you can see on some people but a subtle glamorous and super chic sculpted look.

Rachel started working on my skin and mixed a pea size of the Air Brush Make Up (super covering yet natural looking foundation for an airbrush finish) with 2 pea size of Skin Tint  in number 2 which Rachel mixed together to get a dewy glowing yet covering base.

After the foundation Rachel started working on my eyes, applying the bronzing powder as a base followed by the Eye Sculpt eye shadow to add some depth using the Eye Sculpt and the blending brushes. She then applied the Smokey Eye Pen all around my eyes including on my water line before applying some highlighter on my brow bone and at the inside corner of my eyes before finishing with the Glamolash mascara for ultra long and voluminous eyelashes.

Next is the contouring: Rachel asked me to mock a fish kiss to sculpt my cheeks and enhance my cheek bone with the contouring powder, before doing a “3” around my face with the sculpting brush from the hairline down to underneath my jawline to sculpt and contour the shape of my face. Once the contouring done, Rachel applied some more Skin Tint on its own in lieu of concealer underneath my lower eye lid and around my nose before applying some highlighter on my cheek bone, top of my upper lip and tip of my nose. Next is a touch of Copacabana blush (do not fear the bright colour in the pot it comes out very natural) before everything is set with the banana powder.

The final touches are a touch of Suede Lips and a spritz of Dragon Blood Hyaluronic Tonic to add some glow to the make up which otherwise would have a matte finish. Et Voila! Rachel handed out to me the prescription card of my signature make up so I can re-create at home in between upcoming appointments at the Rodial counter.

Rodial pop up will be at Selfridges London until 20th August. Don’t miss it!

On the photos I am wearing a top by Wolford and my hair is by Taylor Taylor salon.
